Convention Theme: Diversity, Intersectionality, Interdisciplinarity

We are now accepting proposal submissions for the 2021 ASEEES Convention with the deadline of March 1. It is our hope and intention to host an in-person convention in New Orleans. We are also exploring the possibility of hosting a smaller virtual convention for those who cannot or choose not to attend in-person, the exact dates of which have not been determined. In the proposal submission process, you will be presented with an option to indicate your preference regarding in-person or virtual convention. Your selection will not commit you to in-person or virtual options; your selection also will not be part of the consideration in the proposal review process. We will address the question again prior to final scheduling. ASEEES will be carefully monitoring best practices and will make adjustments as necessary to ensure the health and well-being of our attendees.

If you postponed a panel or roundtable that was accepted for  #ASEEES20, you must resubmit your proposal for #ASEEES21. To help reviewers evaluate submissions, mark the box indicating you are re-submitting a proposal on the submission form.

The Proposal Submission is now open: www.aseees.org/convention/cfp
ALL  panel, roundtable, lightning round, individual paper, individual lightning round presentation submissions are due by March 1.

All film screening submissions and affiliate group meeting requests are due by April 1.

Please review the rules for participation and submission process carefully before you start your submission.

  • The 2021 session categories are the same as 2020.

  • Starting this year, we are accepting lightning round proposals with 6-8 presenters.

  • Panel proposals may have minimum of 3 to maximum of 4 paper presentations.

  • Gender diversity on panels, roundtables, and lightning rounds is strongly encouraged.

  • Sessions with participants of diverse racial, ethnic, and national backgrounds are strongly encouraged.

Panelists Wanted Board: We STRONGLY encourage all interested participants to form, or become part of, a panel proposal. Individual paper submissions have a MUCH LOWER chance of being accepted than panel proposals. To assist in the process of forming panels, we have created the Panel/Paper Wanted Board.  If you are looking for a panel to join or a paper presenter for your panel, please review the proposals on the online board. You can also indicate your willingness to volunteer as chair, discussant, or session manager (zoom host for the virtual convention).

Membership Requirement: ALL individual paper and lightning round proposal submitters and panel/roundtable/lightning round organizers in the US and abroad MUST be ASEEES members in order to submit a proposal. Please review the membership rules for participation. Renew your membership today: www.aseees.org/membership/individual.

With any inquiries about the convention, please contact Margaret Manges, the convention manager, at aseees.convention@pitt.edu  If you need assistance logging into the ASEEES members site or are experiencing other technical difficulties, please contact aseees@pitt.edu
