Convention Health and Safety Policy

For those planning to attend the 54th Annual ASEEES Convention in Chicago, November 10-13, 2022, please review the following COVID-19 guidelines and updates, including the ASEEES Convention protocol.

ASEEES continues to monitor the changing conditions with COVID-19 and the CDC and local guidelines. As always, the health and safety of our attendees are our top priorities, and we’re working closely with the Palmer House Hilton to ensure we’re following the latest public health guidelines and best practices.  As of September 13, 2022, the city of Chicago has no restrictions on large gatherings and does not require vaccines nor masks for indoor activities. For more information see the City of Chicago Covid-19 information page.

ASEEES Convention Protocol

As we navigate this phase of the pandemic, we must work together to create a culture of care. That means that each attendee does their part to keep our community and the spaces where we convene safe and healthy. Here’s what we are doing to help mitigate risk for those who join us in person:

Vaccination Expected: To attend the ASEEES Convention, you are expected to be fully vaccinated, as defined by the CDC. For those unable to get the vaccine, a negative test within 72 hours of November 10, 2022, will be expected. You will be asked to sign an attestation to this effect before you can pick up your badge at the convention.

Mask Required: Masks must be worn, fully covering your nose and mouth, at all times when in the indoor ASEEES convention space, unless actively eating, drinking, or presenting in a session. ASEEES attendees must understand, however, that other hotel guests or visitors to the Palmer House Hilton may not be wearing masks since the city of Chicago does not have a mask mandate.

Badge Required: Convention badges will be required to access the ASEEES convention space. Please wear your badge at all times. This means that only attendees who are registered for the convention will be allowed in the convention space.

Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the ASEEES convention space for your convenience.

ASEEES has scheduled 30-minute breaks between sessions to allow for additional cleaning in meeting rooms, hand sanitizer stations, and 3’ between all chairs in meeting rooms.

Hotel staff will wear masks in the ASEEES convention space, especially when handling food and drinks.

DO NOT attend the convention if either of the following is true:

You test positive for COVID-19;

You are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 (e.g., a fever of 100.4F or higher, cough, shortness of breath, headache, sore throat, loss of taste or smell, extreme fatigue, or other symptoms associated with COVID-19 as identified by the CDC).

The safety protocols are subject to change.

By attending the ASEEES Convention, you expressly agree to comply with any and all rules and safety guidelines put in place by ASEEES and by local authorities and voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19, waiving all claims and potential claims against ASEEES and their affiliated companies relating to such risks.
